The Legacy of Professor Jean Durlach

Professor Jean Durlach (1925–2017) was one of the most influential figures in modern magnesium research and the scientist behind Magnesium Acetyltaurinate (ATA Mg®).

For more than 50 years, he advanced global understanding of how magnesium affects the nervous system, cognitive function, stress regulation and overall human physiology.

He founded the International Society for the Development of Magnesium Research (ISDM) and launched the scientific journal Magnesium Research, which remain central references in the field today.

Across his career, he authored over 300 scientific publications and the landmark medical textbook “Le Magnésium en Pratique Clinique”, translated into multiple languages.
